Boleslaus I the Tall (Polish: Bolesław I Wysoki; 1127 - December 7 or 8, 1201) was imperial Duke of Silesia, 1163 - 1172.

He was the eldest son of Władysław II the Exile and Agnes of Babenberg. His father Wladislaus had received ducal title and in 1146 received Silesia as fief from the Holy Roman Empire. Boleslaus was thus the first of the Dukes of Silesia, which after the death of the last Duke of Silesia in 1675 became known as Silesian Piasts and were by Adam Naruszewicz in 1779 referred to as branched out from the Piast dynasty.

After Emperor Barbarossa sectioned Silesia (1163) into Upper Silesia and Lower Silesia Boleslaus became Duke of Breslau Wrocław. He lost Glogau Głogów (1177 – ca. 1185). He was also Duke of Oppeln Opole (1201). He was in exile three times (1146-1163, 1172-1173, 1177).
