It has undergone a drastic change in the recent years. It has its part to play in this. There are many shopping malls located in this area. This place has gained a lot of commercial value because of the nearby IT parks.
Public transport
Chanda nagar has a local train station, hence more and more people are opting to live in this suburb.
The state-owned APSRTC runs the city bus service, connecting to all the major centres of the city. APSRTC connects Chanda Nagar to all parts of the city. It is also serviced by MMTS Train service.
The roads of chandanagar are not good enough to handle the flow of increasing traffic. The roads are narrow and the heavy vehicles add to the already chaotic environment.
It is on Hyderabad- Mumbai Highway. Road Widening work is in progress(October 2008)
