Mark Frank

Mark Frank (born 28 August 1982) is a American Student.

He is currently studying at Temple University Japan and working, teaching English at GABA. Joining You Tube in 2007, he has created different videos providing insight into his life in Japan. In 2007 he started maintaining a blog detailing the events that take place in his daily life.

Early life

Mark was born August 28, 1982 to Elaine and Larry Frank. He has a brother, 4 years older than him, who was a big influence on his life. In the Frank household, there was only one type of pet -- a Parakeet which explains Mark's love of birds.

He was enrolled at Immaculate Conception school where he met identical Asian Twins to who credits his interest in Asian girls. This was later compounded with one of his favorite movies, Karate Kid 2 which featured Okinawan born actressTamlyn Tomita. Mark took Piano lessons which he hated but they gave him a strong musical base.

Mark transfered to Kirtland Public School in Kirtland where he met his best friend Kevin Corrigan. Through first and second grade, Mark devloped affection for a blond girl who shall remain nameless. When he wasn't at school, he spent a lot of time in the basement playing with Construx and G.I. Joes. He also enjoyed playing Atari and amassed a collection of more than 70 games for the system. Mark made friends with another student who had a speech impediment and, through him, was introduced to RoboCop. It was during this time that Mark first played a Nintendo at his cousin's house and Genesis at his friend's house. This further stimulated Mark's passion for Video Games. One year for Christmas, Mark got his dream instrument -- the Saxophone. He was supprised by the volume of sound produced by the instrument and, although he enjoyed playing, often hated practicing.

Mark transfered to Notre Dame in Chardon, Ohio where he met another friend; Martine Berk. During this time, Mark fell for an Italian girl. While enrolled here, Mark played the TurboGrafx-16 for the first time at the Grimm's house. Mark often made friends with the younger brothers of his older brother Steve's friends. Notably Brian Bellomo and Justin Grimm. Mark played sax in the school band which strengthened his relationship with his friend Caesar, who also played Sax.

In fourth grade, Mark was transfered to St. Mary's in Mentor, Ohio where he fell for a Filipino girl. She was a grade above him and the sister of one of his good friends. During this time, Mark first played Super Nintendo at his brother's friend's house. In fifth grade, Mark bought a Sega Genesis system for a reduced price off of one of Steve's friends who had stolen the system, Sega CD, several games, and controllers at a party. This is when Mark's love of video games really took off and he gained an appreciation for the Sonic the Hedgehog franchise.

Mark started his own experimental music solo band called "Red Biff". The first album was titled "Dances with Broken Frogs" and sold over 60 copies through Steve at his high school. The album consisted of 9 tracks and a hidden track, each no longer than a minute. The first track, "Fish" was a instant hit with "Pioneer Sugar" and "Ladybugs And Fat Ladies" also gaining huge popularity. The following year, he released a very limited follow-up album that met with limited sucess; due to poor marketing and only one true hit song "Alice Smokes Weed", a song about the organ player at his church.

For High School, Mark returned to Kirtland Public Schools where he was reunited with many of his friends from his early years in grade school. Throughout his high school career he was infatuated with a Croatian girl who inspired him to write his first rock song named after the girl, "Anita" Mark's brother Steve helped him record the song and Mark presented the CD to Anita in hopes of getting a date. As the lyrics in the song reflect, she blew him off and never really went out with him.

After writing his first song and receiving many compliments, Mark (vocals) and his brother Steve (drums/vocals), along with Steve's friend Chris (guitar/vocals), and Mark's friend Brian (bass), got together and started the band Green Screen. They performed in a number of venues and had a small but avid following. The band broke up when Chris left to persue other opportunities.
