Sher-e-Bangla Medical College (SBMC), is a medical college in Barisal, Bangladesh.[1]
SBMC was established in 1969 and is run under the administration of the University of Dhaka. It was named after A. K. Fazlul Huq, known by his nickname of Sher-e-Bangla – Bengal Tiger, a leading Bengali statesman and former prime minister of Pakistan in the first half of the 20th century, who practiced law in Barisal.
About 180 students are admitted there every year. There are three hostels for male students and two for the female students. Both male and female intern doctors have each one hostel. The campus area is the largest among all the medical college campuses of Bangladesh.
