"The Thing" is hyped up by billboards along [[Interstate 10]] as one heads towards [[Tucson, Arizona]] from the east or west. These advertisements entice travelers along this sparse stretch of desert highway to come see for themselves what the mysterious "Thing" could possibly be (similar to "[[South of the Border]]", albeit less commercial, which is in South Carolina along [[Interstate 95]]). The attraction is part of a large gas station/gift shop that is immediately off of the interstate. It costs 1 dollar, paid at the shop's cash register, to see "The Thing."
