This algorithm is vulnerable to one bruteforce attack and even the Lanman´s algorithm output are 7 characters blocks, example if the password is x where |x| = 8, then obtain the last character will be easy (the bruteforce needs only 256 operations with ASCII characters) .

LANMAN is an obsolete authentication protocol for Microsoft Windows, used in systems before the implementation of Windows NT. Its replacement is NTLM. This algorithm is vulnerable to one bruteforce attack and even the Lanman´s algorithm output are 7 characters blocks, example if the password is x where |x| = 8, then obtain the last character will be easy (the bruteforce needs only 256 operations with ASCII characters) .
