Hi-Standard is a Japanese punk rock group formed in 1991 in Japan. They have released 4 albums: "Growing Up", "Angry Fist", "Making The Road", and "Love Is A Battlefield" in the United States. The band members consist of Ken Yokoyama(guitar), Akihiro Nanba(vocals and bass), and Akira Tsuneoka(drums). The group actually has 5 album releases(same names excluding the fifth) and a single release(The Kids Are Alright) in Japan, but the songs from the fifth album: "Last of Sunny Day," are combined with the albums: "Growing Up" and "Angry Fist" for the US releases. It should be noted that a majority of Hi-Standard's songs are punk rock versions of American pop songs of the 70's and 80's. Examples would be "California Dreamin'" and "Saturday Night." "Making the Road" is considered to be their best album by Japanese fans.
