I don't understand how jumping and taking a hook shot "will not be released from as high in the air" as a normal hook shot. Aren't you in the air when you make the jumping hook shot thus making it released higher than a normal hook shot?

I feel this sentence makes no sense, "The jump hook provides for better balance as well as quicker release, although the shot will not be released from as high in the air.", so I edited it.

Pictures

In all honesty, how can an article about the hook shot not contain a picture of Kareem Abdul-Jabbar? That seems like a really obvious idea. Could somebody find a fair-use image somewhere? 166.129.150.229 (talk) 03:14, 6 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hook shot vs Jumping Hook shot

I don't understand how jumping and taking a hook shot "will not be released from as high in the air" as a normal hook shot. Aren't you in the air when you make the jumping hook shot thus making the ball released higher than a normal hook shot? I feel this sentence makes no sense, "The jump hook provides for better balance as well as quicker release, although the shot will not be released from as high in the air.", so I edited it. 65.51.87.2 (talk) 18:25, 16 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
