Ivan Ivanov (Bulgarian: Иван Иванов), (born 25 February 1988 in Zlatitsa, Bulgaria) is a Bulgarian footballer, currently playing for CSKA Sofia as a defender.

Career

Ivanov is an ex-PFC Pirin 1922 player. He moved to PFC CSKA Sofia in 2005. He is Bulgarian under 21 player. As a player of PFC CSKA Sofia he was a Bulgarian Cup winner in 2006 and Bulgarian Super Cup winner of the same year. Ivan Ivanov is considered as one of the big Bulgarian football talents. National Team

Ivanov made his debut for Bulgaria national football team in a match against Bosnia and Herzegovina national football team played on 20 August 2008 where he entered the game as a substitute in the 67th minute. Bulgaria won the match 2:1. Ivanov also came on as a substitute for the naturalized Brazilian Lucio Wagner in the World Cup qualifier against Italy (10 October 2008) in the 37th minute and impressed against the world champs. The match finished 0:0. He played full 90 minutes in the World Cup qualifier against Georgia on 15 October 2008, which also ended in a scoreless draw. His performances make it likely that he will be part of the national team for the future.

Awards
