World Map
The "World map of all downloads of Mozilla Firefox since June 17, 2008" needs to have a legend. And the text should state begin and end date. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 90.129.128.98 (talk) 07:30, 7 September 2008 (UTC)
Image copyright problem with Image:Firefox-logo.svg
The image Image:Firefox-logo.svg is used in this article under a claim of fair use, but it does not have an adequate explanation for why it meets the requirements for such images when used here. In particular, for each page the image is used on, it must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Please check
- That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's description page for the use in this article.
- That this article is linked to from the image description page.
This is an automated notice by FairuseBot. For assistance on the image use policy, see Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. --06:11, 11 September 2008 (UTC)
Firefox 3.2
3.2 may well not be the next release after 3.1. 3.2 is used for the purpose of Trunk nightly build. The nightly trunk 3.2a1pre build should not be classified as an alpha build of 3.2 because it is not. The intention for such builds is for experienced nightly testers to test new bleeding edge technology and not for other alpha/beta testers. Scanorama (talk) 09:29, 7 January 2009 (UTC)
For the vast majority of people with a Firewall and AV programs, be it local or on a server, there are some problems with Firefox 3.0.x stopping midway through downloads of web-pages.
Upon exiting Firefox and attempting a restart of the program an error message pop-up stating that Firefox is already running. The usual action in this type of situation is to press Ctrl+Alt+Del and start up Task Manager, find and end the Firefox process. However for some unknown reason this will not work for Firefox 3.x i.e the processs can not be ended no matter how hard the user tries the only option is to either, if you have it press the reset/warm reboot button on the compuer or Power off/down and reboot your machine
This BUG/PROBLEM Mozilla claim is the fault of either ZONE ALARM, or waht ever the firewall you have installed, or your AV PAROGRAM. This is the excuse you get even if you don’t have either a Firewall or AV installed, however this is also occurring without any such programs on barebones systems.
So this begs the question is Firefox 3.0.x realy so good and is it ready for public use
My advise DON’T BOTHER WITH FIREFOX UNTILL THEY DECIDE TO GET THIS CONTINUALL ON-GOPING PROBLE SORTED. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Mason45 (talk • contribs) 10:11, 9 January 2009 (UTC)
- If you can site a reliable source for the above information and attribute any opinions to their source, you can add it to the article. I removed it because it looks like original research and unattributed opinion, as well as written from a particular POV. -- Schapel (talk) 12:47, 9 January 2009 (UTC)
Just type firefox crash into google and see how many thousands of pages pop up. The program is glitchy and many people have noticed it, I wouldn't classify it as original research, it's a widespread problem. If someone wants to take the time and cite it and add it to the article, I think it belongs, probably in the critical response section. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.29.233.109 (talk) 19:54, 28 January 2009 (UTC)
- More effective than Wikipedia: Bugzilla. FlyingToaster 20:23, 9 January 2009 (UTC)
- Firefox Crash (611,000), Opera Crash (401,000), Safari Crash (4,360,000).
- Most of the results, if not all, for "Firefox Crash" are about the Firefox crash reporting system or about problematic plugins and add-ons that cause crashes. Hardly anything of note to add to Wikipedia. Though, you could probably add some stuff to the article on Adobe Flash from the results above... --Execvator (talk) 18:42, 29 January 2009 (UTC)
