Iain Jennings is a keyboardist, currently of the British progressive rock band Mostly Autumn and his own band Breathing Space. After joining Mostly Autumn in 1997, he featured on every studio album the band made. Besides playing keyboard, he also provided backing vocals for the band. He also co-wrote some of their songs, including The Gap Is Too Wide, The Spirit of Autumn Past (Part 1), Hollow and Distant Train. In 2005, he released his solo debut album, Breathing Space, on Mostly Autumn Records. It featured Olivia Sparnenn (a regular guest on Mostly Autumn gigs) on vocals, and featured guest appearances of Bryan Josh, Liam Davison and Andrew Jennings, who were all members of Mostly Autumn at the time.
In August 2004, Iain celebrated the arrival of his first daughter, Amelia Jennings.
Jennings left Mostly Autumn in March 2006, shortly after the release of Breathing Space. In September 2006, he became a teacher of music at Joseph Rowntree Secondary School in York. He is now teaching Ict & music at Malton School.
In 2007 the music from Breathing Space developed into a band (also called Breathing Space) and in October 2007 the album Coming up for Air was released to critical acclaim. See their band page for more details here.
He rejoined Mostly Autumn in 2008 after the new album Glass Shadows was recorded but in time to play on the subsequent tour.
