It was formed as a middle school in 1996 by Judy Moore, and located in downtown Sharon, Vermont, on the location of the old elementary school. In 2002, construction began on a second, dedicated high school campus for grades 9-12, and the old elementary school location is now for the middle school only. [1]
Mission
The Sharon Academy's mission is, as stated on their website:
"The mission of The Sharon Academy is to nurture intelligent, independent, and creative thinking in a small school community, awakening students to their immense potential and the difference they can make in the world."[2]
