The 2008-09 season saw Wrens enter a new era as former player David Worthington stepped up from reserve team management to take control as first team manager. Worthington formed a management team with assistants Mark Williams and Alan Grieve, also former players, who in their first season in charge led Wrens to a 2nd place league finish, narrowly missing out on the championship by 2 points.

2009-10 will again see the trio of Worthington, Williams, and Grieves attempt to push the team to the championship which has eluded them narrowly in the previous two seasons.

Blackpool Wren Rovers F.C. are an English football club based in Squires Gate, Blackpool, Lancashire.

The club's ground is Bruce Park, which is located on School Road. The ground adjoins the ground of Squires Gate, and is also very close to the ground of AFC Blackpool.

Blackpool Wren Rovers are members of the Lancashire Football Association, with their senior team playing in the West Lancashire League Premier Division, which is in the 11th tier of the English football league system. The club's colours are red shirts and red shorts.
