The ChildLine Concert (known in recent years for sponsorship reasons as the Cheerios ChildLine Concert) is an annual pop music charity event which has taken place in Ireland since 1997. As the name suggests the money raised by the concert is donated to the young person's charity, ChildLine and many of the attendants are also children. Past performers include Westlife (who have performed every year since their inception), Robbie Williams, Girls Aloud, McFly, All Saints, Brian McFadden, S Club 7, Blue, Sophie Ellis-Bextor, 5ive, Sugababes, Busted, Big Brovaz, Samantha Mumba and Boyzone.[1] To date the event has raised €2.5 million for ChildLine, €280,000 from 2007's event and an expected €400,000 from the 2008 event.[2] The 2008 event was held at the O2 in Dublin on 16 December, the first ever concert to take place at the venue.[3]
