Stefanie Heinzmann

Stefanie Heinzmann (born March 10, 1989 in Eyholz, Valais, Switzerland) is a Swiss soul singer. She gained public interest in early 2008 when she won SSDSDSSWEMUGABRTLAD, a talent contest hosted in Stefan Raab's Late-Night-Show TV total on the German ProSieben network.

Recording career

Heinzmann started her career as a singer in 2005 in a rock band called Bigfisch. In summer 2007 she applied for Raab's talent contest SSDSDSSWEMUGABRTLAD (acronym for: Stefan sucht den Superstar, der singen soll, was er möchte, und gerne auch bei RTL auftreten darf, meaning: Stefan is looking for the Superstar who shall sing what he/she wants and may also gladly perform on RTL) and got selected as one of the 20 finalists. With interpretations of soul, jazz and funk classics by the likes of Macy Gray, Norah Jones and Joss Stone she reached the final show on January 10, 2008. There she finally defeated the remaining three competitors in the televoting, winning a contract with Universal Music.

Her final song "My Man Is a Mean Man" - composed by Swedish producers Gustav Jonsson, Tommy Tysper and Marcus Sepehrmanesh - went on sale the day after the final. One week after its release the single debuted straight on top of the Swiss Singles Chart, also reaching the top 10 in Austria and Germany, where it became a sucessful airplay hit during the following months. Her debut album Masterplan, primarily produced by Paul NZA and Marek Pompetzki, was released on March 7, 2008 througout German-speaking Europe. Just as the singles, it made it to the top 10 in Austria and Germany and also debuted atop the album charts in Switzerland, where it was certified Gold by the IFPI for more than 15,000 copies sold.[1]
