Wight Jr has invested a huge amount of effort into the development of the new car. Christened the "GWR Predator", it is an entirely new bespoke car. While it borrows heavily from recent [[Formula 1]] (most notably using a circa [[2002]] F1 V10 engine and gearbox), it is specifically designed from ground up for the purpose of [[Speed Hillclimb]] competition. Whether it becomes a competing sucess remains to be seen. However, it represents a huge leap the level of technology employed at what is ostensibly an amateur sport. The combination of it's massive horsepower, ultra light weight, innovation and massive complexity makes it a facinating project to study.
