New Boyz

New Boyz is a rap duo made up of Ben J and Legacy from Victorville. They debuted with the single "You're a Jerk", taken from their 2009 EP Skinny Jeans and a Mic.[1] The song peaked at #24 on the Billboard Hot 100.[2] With a new brand of sparer crunk, and boundless energy, teenaged L.A. duo New Boyz created a sensation in 2009 with the MySpace-fueled hit "You're A Jerk" No mere glossy gimmick, despite their youthfulness and their novelty hit, the New Boyz were labeled “the Young Teens of Hip-Hop” by the New York Times before they even had an official single out. Earl “Ben J” Benjamin and Dominic “Legacy” Thomas met in the L.A. suburb of Victorville during their freshman year of high school. While initially nemeses, the pair built a friendship over a shared love of rhyme.[3]
