Step One is the debut by pop group Steps. It was released in the UK and Europe on September 14, 1998. It charted at number two upon its release. In 2000, the album was re-released in the US, containing songs from Step One and its successor Steptacular. The tracks "5,6,7,8", "Last Thing on My Mind", "One for Sorrow", "Heartbeat" and "Better Best Forgotten" were all released as singles in the UK. By the 2000 era, the album has already gone 8x platinum in UK, selling over 2.4 million copies there.
