Dhirkot is a town in Bagh District, Azad Kashmir, Pakistan. It is located 25 kilometres from Kohala and 15 km from Chamankot, the gateway of Azad Kashmir, and 132 kilometres from Islamabad. Dhirkot is a popular tourist resort due to easy access, altitude (1676 meters) and landscape. Dhirkot is linked with all parts of Azad Kashmir by black top roads and direct transport services.The former prime minister of Azad Kashmir Sardar Muhammad Abdul Qayyum khan belongs to Ghazi Abad, the eastern village of Dhirkot. It is also well known for the active participation of its people in war against Dogra Raj during the independene of Azad Kashmir.

Chamyati is another beautiful village of the town. It is famous for apple production. Major Saleem Khan late is one of the famous personalities of Chamyati. He is known as one of the greatest opponents of Dogra Raj in Dhirkot along with Sardar Muhammad Abdul Qayyum Khan, Subdar Mohammad Saddique Khan of Chamyati. Another big political figure of Chamyati was Hafiz Mohammad Sayad Khan who was a major political figure of his time and was arrested by the Dogra Regime and taken to the Srinagar Jail. Raja Khalid Khan is one of the the famous personalities of Jehlah, Malot. He is a political worker struggling and support the independent and United States of Kashmir.

Dhirkot is well known for the number of people who joined Army and had fight against dogara raj.These include Captain Muhammad Sanaullah Khan(from Chamyati) who was also the chairman of the Zakat Comitte later on. , Major Naseem Khan(from Chamyati), Raja Muhammad Aziz Khan Late( from Bahal Bugla), Raja Hameed ul khan(freedom fighter Bun Hafizabad),Late Raja Ayub khan. Raja Lateef Shaheed(Kotli Pall) was one of companion of Sardar Muhammad Abdul Qayyum Khan. He got Shahadat on 3 October 1947, during the war against Dogara Raj and got distinction of first shaheed in freedom fight of Kashmir.Another brave freedom fighther who belong to Dhirkot Sardar Raja Sheer Afzal Khan ( Shaheed)from Naval Makhalya who embrassed shahadat in Bagh Fort.
