Lah-Lah is a five member children's music group from Sydney, Australia. Comprising members currently and fomerly from gypsy band Monsieur Camembert amongst other prominent Australian groups such as Dog Trumpet, Guy Sebastian, James Morrison Sextet, Lah-Lah has recorded and filmed and also performs live music ranging in styles from surf-rock and jazz to gypsy. Lah-Lah's repertoire is primarily composed by Mark Harris and Tina Harris as well as writing collaborations with Lilian Harris, Ben Ely of band Regurgitator, Anouk Ely and Kate Johnson.
Lah-Lah performed at the Sutherland Entertainment Centre, Seymour Centre and Parramatta Town Hall in January 2009 for its inaugural season. Lah-Lah recorded Shake It Like This in October 2008 at Sydney's Megaphon Studios.
In July 2009 Lah-Lah went into Down Under studios, Sydney with production company LitUp Digital to film 12 music video clips from the Shake It Like This album. Other elements were shot in addition to the clips and together they will form the Lah-Lah DVD Lah-Lah's Big Live Band.
Also in July, Lah-Lah signed a broadcast agreement with Nickelodeon Australia for the video clips. The Lah-Lah clips will go to air daily on Nickelodeon Australia's preschool channel Nick Jr. Australia on September 13 2009.[1]
In October 2009 Century Venues childrens' entertainment arm Century's Child produced Lah-Lah into the Enmore Theatre for a two week run of proms style concerts for kids.
Lah-Lah will open the entertainment on the main stage of The Domain, Sydney for celebrations on Australia Day[2] 2010 and will also be featured at the St Kilda Festival in February[3].
The Sydney Opera House will then host Lah-Lah as part of it's Babies Proms season in May 2010.[4]
