Characterizing Thailand's self-sufficient economy as autarky seems a bit off. The idea, as I understand it, is a philosophy promoted by the King to reduce excessive consumption, avoid debt, and live within bounds defined by the carrying capacity of natural eco-systems.

I do not think that self-sufficiency should be described as « a type of extreme personal autonomy » as it may also be collective. Actually, there is a link to this article from the following paragraph on the Special forces article: « Special forces typically comprise relatively small groups of highly-trained personnel who are armed and supplied with specialized equipment, and operate on principles of self-sufficiency, stealth, speed and close teamwork. » – New York 01:05, 24 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I agree, and have changed it. Welcome to Wikipedia! If you see something that you think needs changing, please be bold! Ziggurat 01:23, 24 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]
