Bob Griswold is internationally recognized as a long-time leader in the field of human potential development. He founded Effective Learning Systems, Inc. in 1972 and has personally taught over fifty thousand people techniques for relaxation, memory, stress management, controlling habits, goal achievement and self-esteem through seminars conducted for corporations, government agencies, and the general public.
She was born at [[Cheltenham]], [[Gloucestershire]], [[England]] as '''Margaret Rosalind Messenger''' to Edgar Frank Messenger and Margaret Alice Black. At one time, she was employed as a laboratory assistant at the [[University of Bristol]].


Bob has presented many conferences and workshops at the University of Minnesota and other colleges featuring world-renowned speakers such as Norman Cousins, Bernie Siegel, R. Buckminster Fuller, Karl Menninger, Carl Simonton, Gerald Jampolsky, Wayne Dyer, Joyce Brothers, etc. Many of these prominent professionals have become members of Effective Learning Systems Board of Advisors and have contributed a great deal in their knowledge and friendship.
Her former husband is the eldest son of the [[George Lascelles, 7th Earl of Harewood|7th Earl of Harewood]]. She married Lord Lascelles on 12 February 1979 at St. Mary's Church, [[Paddington]], [[London]], [[England]] and they divorced in 1989.


Bob's work soon evolved into the most popular series of individual self-help audios in the industry. They are the top selling line of self-help audio programs in North American retail bookstores-including over 15 years on the Barnes & Noble Bestsellers list - and have sold millions via mail order and the internet.

At the request of Warner Books, a division of Time?Warner, Bob wrote ''How To Attract Money'', which deals with the relationship between self-esteem and financial success. It is based on one of his most popular self-help audio titles and was printed in seven languages.

Bob has recently updated and expanded that work with his new book ''Attract Money and More''. He is quoted as saying "It is no exaggeration to say that this book could be worth thousands , if not millions, of dollars to you.

Bob was born in Chicago Illinois on January 1, 1935. He is a graduate of the University of Illinois. He is married to his wife Deirdre. They have four children and 14 grandchildren.


The two older children were born out of wedlock. They were subsequently legitimated by the marriage of their parents and given the titles befitting children of a Viscount. Only her two younger children, legitimate from birth, fall within British peerage regulations, are heirs to the [[Harewood]] titles and are in the [[line of succession to the British throne]].
