Paul Roma

Paul Roma (born Paul Centopani) was a professional wrestler who for the most part of his early career worked as a "jobber". He later became fairly successful in professional wrestling, as a former WCW Tag Champion with Mr. Wonderful Paul Orndorff. he also wrestled in the World Wrestling Federation.

Career

Paul Roma began his wrestling career in the World Wrestling Federation (WWF), now known as World Wrestling Entertainment. He was half of a face tag team called the Young Stallions with Jim Powers. They eventually dropped the Young from their name. They were basically "glorified" jobbers and did not rise above mid-card status, although they did beat the Hart Foundation (Bret Hart and Jim Neidhart, who were then heels) cleanly in one match.

Roma then turned heel and formed a team called Power and Glory with Hercules (managed by Slick) but they did not rise above mid-card status either.

In 1992, he attempted to turn to boxing. In the only three pro bouts he had, his record was 2-1 (one loss to Jerry Arentzen, and two wins against debutantes Norman Fortini and Norman Shink).

In 1993, Roma decided to take up wrestling again and went to World Championship Wrestling where he joined the Four Horsemen. With Arn Anderson, they won the WCW World Tag Team Titles. He turned on Arn and left the Horsemen to for another team called Pretty Wonderful with Paul Orndorff, playing off of their nicknames, "Pretty" Paul Roma and "Mr. Wonderful" Paul Orndorff. They won the WCW World Tag Team Titles twice.

Roma eventually got fired for ignoring the road agents who told him to lose to "Das Wunderkind" Alex Wright and make him look good. He attempted to make one more comeback in 1997 in the WWF with his cousin Alex Roma, calling themselves the Pretty Primos. However, they never made it onto WWF TV. He retired for good in 1998.

Today, Paul spearheads a number of successful sports and lifestyle business ventures, combining the skills and abilities that he developed over the years.

Paul is also writing a book on the inner workings on the World Wrestling Federation, based on his 6 years with the company.

Paul Roma is currently working as a sales consultant for a major Fortune 100 company. He is running a wrestling training school in suburban Connecticut.
