Line 1: Line 1:
I think simply dismissing this film as "not at all like scarface" is disingenious. There are more than "just one scene" which is taken out of Scarface. Vijay Chauhans general body language, swagger and constant "hey" before every sentence is straight out of the tony montana textbook. Although overall the story is different, there are an incredible amount of similarities and I think the overall article should include them as they only serve to enhance the viewing of this film and no doubt will be important to fans to read about them
Although there are too many to mention i would point out:

i) Vijays relationship with his mother and younger sister. His "homecoming scene" is a direct rip from scarface.

ii) So is the restaraunt scene which is a rip off of Tonys "you all need a bad guy" routine. iii) Also taken from scarface, is the scene where Tony goes down to Bolivia to meet a drug baron. In this instance Vijay goes to Mauritius and we see the enemy of the hero being thrown out of helicopter just like scarface and like the Bolivian drug baron, Kancha cheena warns Vijay never to cross him. A like for like scene.
iv) Also the scene where Vijay survives the hit squad and confront his enemies in a white suit with an arm sling, is taken from scarface where tony confronts Frank and the corrupt policeman.
v) the scene were Vijay asks the hit squad to shoot him again and again is like the end of scarface.

Anyway those are the similarities.

I also feel more detail should be made of the early part of the film where , Vijays mother when applying for the petrol station job is sexually molested by kancha cheenas men, and it should be mentioned a 12 year old vijay intercedes and is beaten badly, but he does managed to slash with a knife one of the henchmen scarring him for life, this should be mentioned as it is bought up in a key scene later in the film.
