:Maoririder/Jingofetts, I have to ask you to listen to ESkog. He's been wonderful, spending a lot of time and energy trying to help you. ''We're all here to help you.'' Please consider giving ESkog's advice some thought and try improving. Also, have you finished reading [[Wikipedia:Your first article]]? All I ask you to do is to answer here: yes or no. If not, you should probably read through it and indicate here once you've done so. You don't even need to understand it - I (and I'm sure others, such as ESkog) will be glad to explain the page or answer any questions you may have. ''But you need to read it first'' and then '''let us know'''. By ignoring this comment, you're only making it worse for yourself; I recommend following both ESkog's and my comments now. Thanks a lot! Welcome!

Hello Jingofetts, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are a few good links for newcomers:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. If you have any questions, check out Wikipedia:Where to ask a question or ask me on my talk page. Again, welcome!  KillerChihuahua?!? 15:57, 28 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

thanks! --Jingofetts 15:57, 28 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Suggestion per WP:STYLE

Please do read the links in the welcome message. Based on your edit history, I suggest you begin with Wikipedia:Make_only_links_relevant_to_the_context#What_should_not_be_linked. KillerChihuahua?!? 16:21, 28 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Portals

Hi. There is a great interface at Portal:Browse for finding different portals. I know there is one for sports on there, but I don't think I've seen a Narnia portal. --CBD 19:41, 28 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

User page

Hey, Jingofetts. I've just noticed you updated your user page, and although it is entirely your decision what to put on it, perhaps you would like to consult some other user pages to get an idea of what is generally used by looking around in talk pages and clicking on a user's name. Please don't hesitate to ask me any questions by leaving me a message on my talk page (I've put a link in my signature - the little T icon)! JHMM13 (T | C) 20:35, 28 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

tags

Hi Jingo- I think maybe you should limit the amount you use tags such as cleanup and update in articles. It is more helpful to describe the specific problems on the talk page, or better yet, make the changes yourself. See you around. ike9898 19:03, 29 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Hello

Welcome to Wikipedia! I notice that you have a lot of the same interests as Maoririder. Have you met him? (ESkog)(Talk) 19:24, 29 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks and to ike I will use less tags. Thanks. --Jingofetts 19:27, 29 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Looking better

Your articles are all looking better and you seem to be getting the hang of wikifying pages. I still think you need to do a better job of using tags selectively. As we discussed before, one tag goes a long way, and usually if I see a "wikify" tag I'll also cleanup and look to expand if possible. Same for other tags. Also, remember that {{reqimage}} only goes on talk pages - we don't need to advertise to our readers that something is missing! (ESkog)(Talk) 19:39, 29 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

That you, Maori? - Lucky 6.9 21:43, 29 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Lucky! Good to see you pal. I guess happy holidays! I'am better now cheers! write back ASAP!

Lucky sorry to tell you but i lost my password for Mao so i love jingo so hey i got it and now i'am better at wikipedia and that statement about the legal threats forget it sorry.

Glad to see you're back with us Maorider! Hope you had a great holiday and will have a great New Year! Remember to read Wikipedia:Your first article when you have some time - it's really helpful (I just read through it again today myself) and pretty short. Keep up your good work! Thanks! What are you doing?

What are you doing? Are you placing AfD tags on your own articles and then writing justifications for their existence? Please don't do that. If you continue to misuse AfD pages like this, or blanking other people's AfD's, you'll be blocked for vandalism. --Pablo D. Flores (Talk) 17:05, 30 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Mentorship.— Preceding unsigned comment added by Jingofetts (talkcontribs) 17:06, 30 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

You might want to read Wikipedia:Deletion_policy#Commenting on a listing for deletion it goes over some guideline on how to comment so that we can keep the discusion fairly neat and orderly and so that people know at a glance what your opinion is. --Pboyd04 17:11, 30 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

This is your last warning. You are creating articles Surf&Turf with misleading tags and disregarding policies and the messages like above. I'm not specially patient when it comes to purposeful disruption. You'll be blocked if you do the same again. --Pablo D. Flores (Talk) 17:19, 30 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Pablo calm down. okay man dont threaten me.

Block

Template:Vbc-t

You can't use policy against me. Your edit summaries mocking me are visible to all. You were warned sufficiently. Take advantage of the block to relax and to spend a Happy New Year in Real Life. --Pablo D. Flores (Talk) 17:25, 30 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Or perhaps to read the information found by following the links in your welcome message, above. KillerChihuahua?!? 17:32, 30 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

{{unblock}} due to me being a previous "friendly" user. jin.

Tags again, again

As we have discussed before, please stop dumping multiple tags on pages without explanations. Let me know if you have questions. (ESkog)(Talk) 00:14, 4 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I'am not messing. Thanks ESkog I want my Maoririder name back so i will create hopefully. --Jingofetts 14:40, 4 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Getting your password back

If you put in a valid e-mail address when you created Maoririder, you can go to the log-in screen and have it e-mail you a new password. Once you get in you can change your Maoririder password to whatever you want. (ESkog)(Talk) 19:07, 4 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

no e-mail --Jingofetts 19:46, 4 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

To Doc Glasgow {{unblock}} IP NUMBER so i can edit and no vandalism! That was not me??? Mentorship. --Jingofetts 18:42, 5 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Do you relize how much good i did with Maoririder (talk · contribs)? look again!

I can't unblock you without knowing your IP number - this account isn't blocked, and I can't find out your IP address. It should tell you on the blocked message, and I'll unblock you promptly. Thanks! Flcelloguy (A note?) 01:04, 7 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks so much! CHEERS! MAORIRIDER

Use of templates

Remember our conversation at User talk:Maoririder? And again up above on this talk page? I don't really feel like you're listening, as you continue to dump a bunch of tags on articles without adding any content. A few cleanup tags are a good part of cleanup patrol if you don't know what else to do with the page. Since you got your IP unblocked, here are the edits you have made:

  1. added another disputed tag to Arthur (TV series)
    • I think it has been well explained that the disputed tag is for when there are edit conflicts or something. If you disagree with something, be bold, change it, and if you feel it's necessary explain yourself on the talk page.
  2. Movies.com added cleanup tag, no content
    • You created this yourself. Why not try to clean it up instead? One editor has already worked on this but you re-added the tag...
  3. new stub at Mackworth Island with 2 tags
    • The stub looks better but remember that there's no reason to put cleanup and attention on the same page.
  4. Malformed Template:Island-stub, including 1 template inside it
    • Remember long long ago when we had Maoririder creating a bunch of stubs which had to be deleted? This is probably going to be another one. You need to learn the proper format for stubs before you create them. Especially including the "expand" template within those is a no-no.
  5. Talk:San Andreas (Grand Theft Auto) brief note, added reqimage tag
    • Again, this is not a problem if you do it once, but many of your edits just consist of adding a reqimage tag to whatever you come across via "Random article".
  6. Talk:List of vehicles in Grand Theft Auto series brief note, added reqimage tag
    • Same as above
  7. cleaned up some bad writing at Juventud Guerrera
    • Now this is a good edit. You found some bad content and edited the page to make it better. Do more of this, and less of the other stuff!
  8. added 3 tags to Meat (wrestler) (moved one tag to Talk page)
    • I thought you said you were going to stop this.
  9. added question to Talk:Portland Pirates
  10. added reqimage tag to Talk:Cookiecutter shark and found an image online (which is probably copyrighted)
    • Same as other reqimages.

Please read Wikipedia:Your first article and try to keep your edits away from the more complicated stuff involving tagging articles and creating stubs. Right now you should work more on simply editing articles to make them better yourself. (ESkog)(Talk) 16:23, 7 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Maoririder/Jingofetts, I have to ask you to listen to ESkog. He's been wonderful, spending a lot of time and energy trying to help you. We're all here to help you. Please consider giving ESkog's advice some thought and try improving. Also, have you finished reading Wikipedia:Your first article? All I ask you to do is to answer here: yes or no. If not, you should probably read through it and indicate here once you've done so. You don't even need to understand it - I (and I'm sure others, such as ESkog) will be glad to explain the page or answer any questions you may have. But you need to read it first and then let us know. By ignoring this comment, you're only making it worse for yourself; I recommend following both ESkog's and my comments now. Thanks a lot!
