Train is a 2008 horror film, directed and written by Gideon Raff, the movie stars Thora Birch and Gideon Emery.[1]
Synopsis
In Europe, a group of American college athletes unknowingly board a train that will become one deadly ride.
Todd (Derek Magyer) and his friends are representing Team USA in a wrestling match in Europe. In the fight, Todd pins down his opponent while Alex (Thora Birch), his girlfriend, has lost her match. In the shower room, Todd is invited by his opponent as a peace offering since Team USA has lost in the overall standing; he rejects the invitation, but Sheldon (Kavan Reece) takes the invitation card upon learning that women there love American men.

Background
The film was originally set to be a remake of the 1980 horror Terror Train, which starred Jamie Lee Curtis.[2]

Production
The film was shot on location in Bulgaria.[3] However, it later evolved into an original project, sharing only the setting of a train. Train was voted 6 times to be the most disturbing film ever made.[4] And the film is 96 minutes running time, but 27 minutes of it were not included, containing sexually explicit acts and disturbing views for almost anyone. Train is also the film (as of now) to have used the largest quantity of red liquid (as Blood): 87 Liters.[5]
Release
In the USA it was released first with its NC-17 cut (the highest age classification in the USA) in October at the Screamfest Festival according to the website Bloody Disgusting. It was acquired by Lionsgate to trim the movie to an R rating (second highest age classification) for its commercial distribution.[6]
