It is often falsely referred as "[[ninja]]-armour", however it was typical for [[ashigaru]] (of course this armour might be optinally worn by ninja too, as any [[samurai]] armour, but it wasn't exclusively "ninja-armor").

Military "Ashigaru" Tatami-dō.
"Ninja" Tatami-dō.

A Tatami-dō (Japanese: 畳胴), also Tatami-dō gusoku (畳胴具足), is a type of Japanese armour.

The Tatami-dō was made from mail or plated mail. The Tatami-do was a folding type of armour (hence its name Tatami, from Tatamu 畳む, "To fold"), which could also be made of small plates, connected by mail.[1] The Tatami-dō was easy to make and convenient for transportation, and was manufactured in great numbers for the ashigaru light infantry.[2][3]

It is often falsely referred as "ninja-armour", however it was typical for ashigaru (of course this armour might be optinally worn by ninja too, as any samurai armour, but it wasn't exclusively "ninja-armor").
