MANGARHI

It is a village in Aligarh District and located 20 km from Aligarh. This village comes in Block - Gonda, Tehsil - Iglas, District - Aligarh, Uttar Pradesh.

The population of this village is around 2500. The main profession of the village people is Potato and Wheat Farming.

There are so many Cold Storage units near this village for the Potato storage.

This village also has some policitical relations. Ch.Charan Singh (Former Prime Minister) used to visit in this village and stayed with Ch. Amichand Singh in 1991 - 1193.

Amichand Singh is such a personality, who always contributed for the society development with the help of leaders like, Ch.Charan Singh, Vijendra Singh (M.P. Loksabha), Mulayam Singh Yadav and Tejvir Singh Guddu (Ex.Zila Panchayat Chairman).

His son Ch. Sunil Singh has also been a state secretary for the student union of Uttar Pradesh from 2001 to 2006. He was nominated by the Anup Pandey (Chairman - Studnet Lokdal).

Mangarhi is a prestigious village situated on the main road (Aligarh to Gonda) with good commuting facilities. The road from Aligarh goes to Mathura via this village and Gorai (a small town near Iglas).

Mr. Nanak Chand Sharma from this village has been HOD - head of the horticulture department in BRAU - Agra University.
