Fu Tong WongTemplate:Country data 1948),an American Chinese Musician. Wong received musical training at a young age in Guangzho, and has gone through Cultural Revolution. He obtained a Masters degree in Music from Kent State University in the mid 70's. He studied violin under Si Hong Ma, and learned how to compose from Ji Ren Zhang and others. Wong currently lives in Tainan, Taiwan, and is an associate professor at a local college. Besides teaching music and violin, he enjoys reading and writing, and has published several books.

The works of Wong has been played worldwide, including Vienna, New York, Beijing, Shanghai, Shenzhen, Hong Kong, and Taiwan.

Major Compositions

  • "Xi Shi - the Opera", is the first opera using the Chinese language describing the historical story of one of the four Chinese Beauties.
  • "The Hero and the Great Eagle Symphony", based on Jin Yong's famous novel. Wong utilizes western music to deliver the story and fate of a wuxia hero and his lover.
