Revision as of 07:49, 18 April 2010

The highest-selling singles in Australia are ranked in the Australian Recording Industry Association singles chart, also known as the ARIA Charts, published by the Australian Recording Industry Association (ARIA). The data are compiled from a sample that includes music stores, music departments at electronics and department stores and Internet sales, in other words, both digital as well as CD sales.[1] ARIA also issues a weekly albums chart and an end of year albums and singles chart, among other charts.

Out of the singles that have reached peak position in 2010 so far, Fireflies by Owl City has had the longest run, starting on January 4, and remained there until February 8, a total of 5 weeks. Owl City has also had the most weeks collectively at number one, with five weeks.

During 2010, four acts have reached number one on the singles chart for the first time in Australia, these being Owl City, Iyaz, Jason Derülo, and Train

Rude Boy became Barbadian singer Rihanna's fourth number-one single in Australia on March 8, 2010.

As of the issue dated April 5, there have been five number one singles.
