Mutato Muzika building on Sunset Boulevard

Mutato Muzika is a music production company established in 1989 by Devo co-founder Mark Mothersbaugh.

While all Devo members from Mark Mothersbaugh, Gerald V. Casale, Bob Mothersbaugh, and Bob Casale, as well as world-renown drummer Josh Freese, often meet, rehearse and confer in its West Hollywood studio facilities - Mutato Muzika is, in fact, a full-service music production company.

With executive producer Robert Miltenberg, Mutato Muzika maintains a staff of five fully accomplished and award-winning composers—all trained in part by Miltenberg -and particularly by Mothersbaugh- who serves as Master Composer for everything from major film releases and television series to video games and ubiquitous advertising commercials.

Mutato Muzika has composed classic compositions for music in everything from Rushmore, The Royal Tenenbaums, The Life Aquatic, Confessions Of A Teenage Drama Queen, 13, Lords Of Dogtown, Nick & Nora’s Infinite Playlist, and Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs.

These represent just a few of the many titles Mutato Muzika has worked on.

The list of television accomplishments (both children and prime-time) alone take several pages to all note accurately. In this massive range, Mutato Muzika has left an indelible imprint on such series as Rugrats, Shaggy & Scooby-Doo Get a Clue!, Eureka, Big Love and significantly more than that.

Mutato Muzika is also responsible for the scores of video games that range from Crash Bandicoot to Sims.

Mutato Muzika also provides music for more than one hundred commercials—in all forms and formats—per year.

Enduring campaigns such as Apple’s “PC vs. Mac” and Martini & Rossi’s “George Clooney/Giorgio” campaign are two of the more recent examples of Mutato’s advertising work.

Part Warhol's Factory - part Rock n' Roll Museum, Mutato Muzika is housed in a completely circular bright green building in the heart of the famed Sunset Strip in West Hollywood, California.

The building was designed by noted architect Oscar Niemeyer.
