They have also played in many Final Fours in the European competitions which makes them one of the biggest volleyball clubs of Europe.

Olympiacos have a women volleyball team as well which was founded in 1992. Contrary to the men's team, women of Olympiacos had never played a major role until 2007, when they finished second in the Greek league and eliminated their eternal enemy Panathinaikos in the Greek Cup. In the season 2007-08 the women department reached the quarter finals of the Challenge Cup.
