Is it necessary to have such a detailed character list? Especially in a collection of short stories, this seems excessive. This is not a drama, nor is it a lengthy and expansive epic like <i>Gone with the Wind</i> or <i>Middlemarch</i> where a cast of characters might be understandable. Is it necessary to have such a detailed character list? Especially in a collection of short stories, this seems excessive.
