seems to be a more sensible place for this, and besides, it's how the other asteroid articles appear to be getting tagged

Wiki Historian N OH

You raised a point on Wiki Historian N OH's talk page that you didn't want to be registered. You could, very well, register as User:98.82.xx.xxx and still remain anonymous. A couple people have gone the registered account with the IP username route. Just add the xx's to cover up the complete IP and no one (but admins who have access to this stuff) will be able to see where you really are. Having a registered account has many great features like a Watchlist and access to applications that anon's don't. I hope you will consider coming over to the registered account side. If not, I will respect your decision. If you ever need any help on anything, please message me on my talk page. Take Care...NeutralHomerTalk06:27, 27 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Okie Dokie :) My offer of help when you need, of course, is still out there. Take Care...NeutralHomerTalk01:12, 28 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Please revert your asteroid article edits

The correct article name is Main-belt Asteroid.Spitfire19 (Talk) 17:15, 1 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I will cease making these edits for now, and if I can be shown that I am incorrect, I will revert them. But first, let me make the following points:
  1. Contrary to your statement, there is no article entitled Main-belt Asteroid, your link directs to Asteroid belt.
  2. Within the aforementioned article, the phrase "main belt asteroid" is used fairly consistently without capitalisation, e.g.,
  • Since their formation, the size distribution of the asteroid belt has remained relatively stable: there has been no significant increase or decrease in the typical dimensions of the main-belt asteroids
  • there has been no significant increase or decrease in the typical dimensions of the main-belt asteroids
  • This plot of orbital inclination (ip) versus eccentricity (ep) for the numbered main-belt asteroids clearly shows several clumps of asteroid families.
  • In the more distant past, the Datura cluster appears to have formed about 450 million years ago from a collision with a main-belt asteroid.
3. On the other hand, ALL uses of "Main-belt" with an uppercase "M" appear either at the beginning of a sentence or as part of a section header, and there is not one instance of "Main-belt Asteroid" with the "A" displayed in upper case.
This makes it clear to me that what I am doing is correct, but I will gladly hold off on any further edits to give you a chance to respond; there may be something here that I do not understand, and I am more than willing to listen to an explanation. 98.82.34.167(talk) 17:30, 1 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Alright, thanks for clarifying that up. proceed. Spitfire19 (Talk) 17:33, 1 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you for being so gracious. 98.82.34.167 (talk) 17:34, 1 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Barnstar!

The Minor Barnstar
Awarded to a very private IP editor, for making many necessary but small edits. Especially your zeal in correcting the capitalization of "Main-belt Asteroid" related articles shall not be easily forgotten. Drmies (talk) 02:08, 3 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
WOW! A Barnstar for an anon IP? I am truly, truly touched, as well as inspired to try to finish the ENORMOUS task that I have started. Thank you very much, you have really made my day/weekend/month/year(?)!! 98.82.34.167 (talk) 02:15, 3 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
