Emeli Sandé is a Scottish singer. Sandé has achieved two top 10 singles in the UK after collaborating with the rapper Chipmunk on his song "Diamond Rings" in 2009 and then appeared on Wiley's 2010 single "Never Be Your Woman". She supported Solange Knowles on tour at venues like Oran Mor in Glasgow. Emeli's single Daddy is due to be released in May 2010, the song is produced by NaughtyBoy Recordings.[2][3]
Career
Sandé started her big time career by featuring on Chipmunk's single "Diamond Rings", which entered the UK singles charts at number 6, becoming Chipmunk's first single to reach top 10 and Emeli's first single to reach top 10, Diamond Rings, it also features a sample of, Miss Ska-Culation” by Roland Al and the Soul Brothers. Never Be Your Woman was released on February 28, 2010. It is the single from rapper Wiley featuring Emeli Sandé, which features a sample from number 1 single from White Town's "Your Woman", which in turn features a trumpet line taken from "My Woman" by Al Bowlly. The song charted at number 8 in the UK becoming Wiley and Emeli's second top 10 hit in the UK. It also charted at number 1 on the UK Dance Chart, and number 4 on the UK R&B Chart's. Sandé is currently working on her debut album.[4][5]
