Long Distance Calling are a German Post Rock band, formed in 2006 in Münster. Their melancholic tracks, usually lasting five or more minutes, are mostly instrumental, but some of them feature guest vocalists: Peter Dolving from The Haunted (Built Without Hands, album Satelite Bay) and Jonas Renkse from Katatonia (The Nearing Grave, album Avoid The Light). Long Distance Calling have released two singles and two full-length albums, both received very positively by critics: Satellite Bay (2007) ^[1] ^[2] ^[3] and Avoid the Light (2009) ^[4] ^[5] ^[6]. In 2008 the band played at the Rock am Ring ^[7] and Roadburn festivals; the band toured Germany in 2009^[8]. In 2010 Long Distance Calling and Finnish Swallow The Sun supported Katatonia during the New Night Over Europe tour ^[9].
