A tranny chaser is term used by some to denote a person who loves or is attracted to transsexual or transgendered people. It is usually applied to non-transgendered men who are attracted to pre- or non-operative transwomen. Although in common usage, it is seen by many in the applicable group as offensive, with terms such as "admirer" being preferred instead.
Some have suggested that the root of men's attraction to transwomen lies in repressed homosexuality or bisexuality. However, there are no known studies on this phenomenon. See also Homosexuality and transgender for more information on the difficulty in defining relationships involving transgendered people as homosexual or heterosexual.
