Marc Urselli (born January 31, 1977 in Aarau, Switzerland) is a New York City-based 3-time Grammy Award winning audio engineer, live sound engineer, music producer, mixing engineer, remixer, sound designer, composer and musician.
He is known for recording and mixing almost all (more than 20, as of August 2010) of John Zorn's albums since 2007 as well as many albums for John Zorn's label Tzadik. He also does live sound mixing and tours with John Zorn, Laurie Anderson, Lou Reed and many others.
In 2005 he recorded and mixed the Les Paul's 90th birthday tribute album Les Paul & Friends: American Made World Played (Capitol 2005) featuring Les Paul himself, Sting, Joss Stone, Eric Clapton, Jeff Beck, Keith Richards (of Rolling Stones), Buddy Guy, Richie Sambora (of Bon Jovi), John Rzeznik (of Goo Goo Dolls), Billy Gibbons (of ZZ Top), Sam Cooke, Joe Perry (of Aerosmith), Mick Hucknall (of Simply Red), Beth Hart, Steve Lukather (of Toto), Neal Schon (of Journey) and many others. The album won two Grammy Awards at the 48th Annual Grammy Awards for Best Rock Instrumental Performance and Best Pop Instrumental Performance. Marc Urselli also worked as a recording engineer on the Mexican-American singer Lila Downs' 2004 album "Una Sangre (One Blood)" (Narada 2004), which won in the category of Best Contemporary Folk Album at the 2005 Latin Grammy Awards.
Throughout his extensive career Marc Urselli has also worked with Luther Vandross, Mike Patton (of Faith No More), Marianne Faithful, Patti Labelle, Vincenzo Pastano and many others. He is also known for his work as a sound designer for film and TV and he has recorded and mixed several movie soundtracks.
He currently resides in New York City where he is chief house engineer and studio manager of EastSide Sound recording and audio post house, one of the longest running recording studios in New York (established 1973).
