Southeastern Free Will Baptist College is a college, located in Wendell, North Carolina on the outskirts of Raleigh, Knightdale, Zebulon, and Wake Forest. It was begun in Virginia Beach, Virginia at Gateway FWB Church and was moved to Wendell, NC approximately 30 years ago in order for the college to maintain a more central location. Honorary Doctorate Lorenza Stox is the President and Pastor Dann Patrick is Chairman of the Board of Trustees comprising of various FWB (and Baptist) ministers. Originally begun as a "local church" college, it has now migrated into a "multi-church" run college. The following churches are, or have recently been, represented on the board: Beacon Baptist Church of Raleigh, NC; Hilltop FWB Church of Fuquay, NC; Tabernacle FWB Church of Kinston, NC; Landmark FWB Church of Cary, NC; Parkers Chapel FWB Church of Greenville, NC; Faith FWB Church of Goldsboro, NC; Gateway FWB College of Viriginia Beach, VA; and others. Southeastern offers bachelor degrees in Christian Education, Music Education, Sacred Music, Religious Arts, Missions, and Bible. A three year certificate in Biblical Studies and a two year associates in business are also available. SFWBC is a non-accredited institution. It's degrees are non-transferrable to state colleges, community colleges, or various other universities. It is currently in the process of gaining "review" status with TRACS accrediting; however, accredidation with SACS is not currently being sought after. The school does not accept government funding either directly or through student grants and government issued loans. The school maintains a consistent 140 students from Free Will Baptist and Baptist churches across the country. Approximate cost for this college is $10,000.00 per year including tuition, room and board, and fees.
The school's Alma Mater is:
Of our great God upon His throne These halls have taught us well To live for Him who died for us With burning hearts to tell. To know Him and to make Him known His glory shall be praised In heart, in word, in deed, in life God's standard we shall raise. Southeastern's task was born of those Whose hearts did burn within To build the church of God's own Son And rescue souls from sin. To know Him and to make Him known His glory shall be praised. In heart, in word, in deed, in life God's standard we shall raise. Of this great task we pledge ourselves To serve the Living Word To break the firmaments of Hell (? unsure) With the power of His Word. To know Him and to make Him known His glory shall be praised. In heart, in word, in deed, in life God's standard we shall raise.
