Looking at my talk page, I see it's getting ''pret''ty long—50 conversations! I was wondering if you could help me get a bot to start archiving it? I'm flummoxed as to how to start. and I was wondering if there was any way I could get my archive box to say "Archive 1: Month Year - Month Year" instead of just "Archive 1". I have been reading Wikipedia for a while now, and thought I should register. I think that I will probably start very small with maybe minor copy editing. I will look into the categories where I have some knowledge such as yeast bread baking and classical guitar. Thanks again--[[User:Romantic Mollusk|Romantic Mollusk]] ([[User talk:Romantic Mollusk|talk]]) 16:55, 2 October 2010 (UTC) |

Excuse me, but how is this a username vio? --The High Fin Sperm Whale 23:10, 10 September 2010 (UTC)
- Per WP:GROUPNAME, usernames should represent a person as an individual and not a group or a company or a product; in that case, the name was that of a publication and so, in my opinion, it violated upolicy. And I was reasonably sure that it represented that publication, because the requester's e-mail address matched one of those listed in the website's "contact us" section. Hi. As you recently commented in the straw poll regarding the ongoing usage and trial of Pending changes, this is to notify you that there is an interim straw poll with regard to keeping the tool switched on or switching it off while improvements are worked on and due for release on November 9, 2010. This new poll is only in regard to this issue and sets no precedent for any future usage. Your input on this issue is greatly appreciated. Off2riorob (talk) 23:47, 20 September 2010 (UTC)

Proper translation needed
I would like to ask you for a favor in translating the following into proper Italian if you don't mind. It might (or might not) solve a real silly feud between neighbors.
"If you're a real Italian act like one and get over "it" so we can solve it."
Thanks, TMCk (talk) 01:57, 23 September 2010 (UTC)
And a little add on for the subject line: "And one more thing" (e mas una cosa(?))TMCk (talk) 02:22, 23 September 2010 (UTC)
- Well, más is Spanish ; in Italian "and one more thing" is "ed un'altra cosa"; while "If you're a real Italian act like one and get over "it" so we can solve is" can be translated as "se sei un vero Italiano, comportati come tale e cerca di fartene una ragione, cosicché possiamo risolverla. (or cosicché possiamo risolvere questa storia)" Hope this helps. Salvio Let's talk 'bout it! 11:21, 23 September 2010 (UTC)
- You're welcome; it was my pleasure. Salvio Let's talk 'bout it! 23:18, 26 September 2010 (UTC)
Adopt-a-user reminder
Hello, I have completed a general cleanup of the adopter information page for the adopt-a-user project, located here. During my cleanup, I have removed several inactive and retired users. In order to provide interested adoptees with an easy location to find adopters, it is essential that the page be up-to-date with the latest information possible. Thus:
- If you are no longer interested in being an adopter, please remove yourself from the list.
- If you are still interested, please check the list to see if any information needs to be updated or added - especially your availability. Thank you.
- You are receiving this message because you are listed as an adopter here.

Re: Adoption
Hello Salvio! I'd be glad to have you as my adopter! I look forward to learning from you. :) ShatteredSpiral (talk) 21:47, 26 September 2010 (UTC)
- Great!
- I'm at your disposal, whenever you need anything; so, feel free to ask away. Salvio Let's talk 'bout it! 23:18, 26 September 2010 (UTC)
Question!
Would you by chance know how I can get those collapsable boxes on the bottom of your userpage on mine? Or some sort of variation of them anyways... :) ShatteredSpiral (talk) 20:56, 27 September 2010 (UTC)
- I use {{collapse top}} and {{collapse bottom}}.
- And, by the way, I've snooped about your 'tribs: you're doing a jolly good job! Salvio Let's talk 'bout it! 22:12, 27 September 2010 (UTC)
Thanks! Also, one more question. How can I get an article to Good Article status? I'm unsure of the process. ShatteredSpiral (talk) 01:45, 28 September 2010 (UTC)
- Well, if you'd like to have an article promoted to good article status, you should nominate it here, after making sure it meets all the criteria listed here — a very good guide can be found here —. Unfortunately, the process is quite backlogged; so, if you chose to nominate an article for review be aware that it might take some time.
- However, since you're still fairly new, perhaps WP:FEED OR WP:PR might be better venues to receive feedback regarding an article you've written. Salvio Let's talk 'bout it! 15:11, 28 September 2010 (UTC)
- Ah, I see. I'm not there yet, lol. I'm just starting to look over the article at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Adams and see what needs to be fixed/added. I read both of the reviews over there so I'm gonna get started today. I'm looking for sources/references for a certain part of the article that seems to have none. :)ShatteredSpiral (talk) 16:48, 28 September 2010 (UTC)
- Whoops, I thought you were referring to an article you were about to start; sorry...
- In this case, the article has already been developped and might be easier to have it promoted; first, you could tackle the issue highlighted here... And remember to inform the main contributor(s) of your intention, as it is considered polite. I really hope you manage to get it to GA status! Question:)
Hey, it's cymru.lass again. This is probably a newbie-type question, but what's a circular redirect? I couldn't find the answer to that question by searching or on WP:REDIRECT. Thanks in advance! --- cymru lass (hit me up)⁄(background check) 02:18, 29 September 2010 (UTC)
- Well, it should be when page A is a redirect to page B, which, in turn, is a redirect back to page A; in these cases, however, the double redirect doesn't work, as it is blocked by the software and only shows you the link (I believe). Salvio Let's talk 'bout it! 09:46, 29 September 2010 (UTC)

- Hahaha, expert? Remember this? I wouldn't call myself an expert just yet—I'm still making those mistakes. The only difference is I've discovered the preview button! --- cymru lass (hit me up)⁄(background check) 00:41, 30 September 2010 (UTC)

FYI
No one ever says "Let's talk 'bout it". While the "a" is often left off of "about" to begin a phrase (for instance "bout time"), "talk-a-bout" is much easier to say than "talk-bout", and I have never heard anyone anywhere say the latter. Keepscases (talk) 16:12, 30 September 2010 (UTC)
