HeyMike! is a U.S. punk band out of Ventura County, California that was founded by lead singer and songwriter Steven Neufeld. The band has published two records on Takeover Records titled "Embrace Your Hooks," released in 2004, and "HeyMike", released in 2006.

History (2003-2006)

HeyMike! was formed in 2003 when Justin "Juice" Cabrera contacted Steven Neufeld in an attempt to start a new band. The two had formally played together in the American punk band and Tooth & Nail alumni Craigs Brother. Juice enlisted Josh McDonald to play bass from Ventura's own All in Good Time. The band held its first practice in November 2003, but didn't settle on the name Hey Mike! (which is a shout-out to NOFX's Fat Mike) until a few months later. A mere five months after forming, the quartet recorded the EP Embrace Your Hooks and released it in June 2004 on Takeover Records. They jumped on tour, including Warped Tour dates, stints with AutoPilot off, The Starting Line and Yellowcard before hitting the studio early the next year to work on their freshman full-length The band would take a hiatus soon after trying out new band members until 2009.

2008-Present

In 2008 after trying out new lineups and new music, HeyMike! added former Yellowcard guitarist and owner Ben Harper as the new lead guitarist. Warren Cooke, also of Yellowcard played in HeyMike briefly in 2008 before moving to Jacksonville, Fl to be with his family. Josh McDonald would come back to play bass guitar as the band toured in the United States and Japan in 2009.

In 2010, HeyMike! finished recording their third record and second full length album titled, "Pop and Circumstance." May of 2010 would see the band touring in Europe and soon after the mixing of "Pop and Circumstance" finished. After a delay of the release of "Pop and Circumstance," HeyMike! has posted on their facebook and myspace pages that the album will release early in 2011 with more touring shortly after.
