Spotting rifles may need their own entry but as far as i know they are only ever part of the aiming system for a larger gun. This article however does not mention how they are usually mounted for their purpose, I don't know if they are detachable.[[Special:Contributions/122.49.167.49|122.49.167.49]] ([[User talk:122.49.167.49|talk]]) 13:41, 17 June 2010 (UTC)

Why "Spotting rifle" redirects to this article?

This article describes different ways of "mounting" a weapon. A spotting rifle is a weapon used to aim/help aim another (bigger) weapon. So they're 2 different concepts! Can anyone please explain, before I (try to) ammend this situation?
