Junebud AB (publ) is a Swedish video game company that specializes in browser games and Web3D technology. Junebud's flagship product is MilMo, a casual 3D MMO with platformer and action adventure gameplay elements.

History

  • June, 2008: Junebud was founded with focus on leveraging two growing trends: Web3D gaming and the Free-to-play business model. A team was composed from veterans of several AAA-titles, as well as hand-picked new talent.
  • Early 2009: Work began on a casual action adventure MMO with platforming elements. The Unity3D engine was chosen as the Web3D technology for the project.
  • October 27, 2009 Junebud went public on Aktietorget, a Swedish minor stock exchange primarily focused on start ups, seed and growth stage companies.
  • December 22, 2009 After one year of development Junebud released the alpha version of MilMo on the portal milmogame.com
  • April 16, 2010 Junebud announced a new strategy of delivering MilMo via social networks. The Facebook version of the game became one of the very earliest 3D games on Facebook.
  • October 10, 2010 A deal was announced with Brazilian social game publisher Mentez, to bring a Portuguese version of MilMo to Orkut, Brazil's largest social network.
  • January 27, 2011, MilMo was released on the Friendster social network, with servers in Southeast Asia.
