Ariel Winter Workman (born January 28, 1998), known by her stage name, Ariel Winter, is an American child actress and singer. She is best known for her role as Alex Dunphy in the TV series Modern Family.
Career
Since 2009, Winter is perhaps best known for portraying brainy middle daughter Alex Dunphy on Modern Family, for which she has won a Screen Actors Guild Award for Best ensemble in a Comedy Series along with the rest of the show's cast. Winter voices Gretchen in the cartoon Phineas and Ferb. She had a recurring role in the TV series ER as Lucy Moore, the daughter of Hedy Burress's character, Joanie.
Winter has released two singles: "Fallen" (February 2010) and "Banished" (April 2010).
She has also portrayed characters in several films.
