It will then turn southwest, intersecting [[Interstate 20]] near [[Haughton, Louisiana|Haughton]] in [[Bossier Parish]] and then head south of [[Shreveport, Louisiana|Shreveport]]. I-69 will then turn more westerly, intersect [[Interstate 49]] near [[Stonewall, Louisiana|Stonewall]] in [[De Soto Parish]], north of [[Mansfield, Louisiana|Mansfield]] and head for the Texas state line. Among officials working for this route was [[Mayor]] [[Dennis H. Freeman|Dennis Freeman]] of [[Logansport, Louisiana|Logansport]] in De Soto Parish, who served from [[1984]] until his death in [[2007]]. |

The proposed Interstate 69 will pass through the western part of the U.S. state of Louisiana.
Route description
In Louisiana, I-69 will pass near Shongaloo, Haynesville, and Minden in north Louisiana. It will then turn southwest, intersecting Interstate 20 near Haughton in Bossier Parish and then head south of Shreveport. I-69 will then turn more westerly, intersect Interstate 49 near Stonewall in De Soto Parish, north of Mansfield and head for the Texas state line. Among officials working for this route was Mayor Dennis Freeman of Logansport in De Soto Parish, who served from 1984 until his death in 2007.
