After 8 years at its independent location, DeKalb School of the Arts moved back into Avondale High School, its original home, in August 2009. It was previously located on the site of the former [[Briarcliff High School (DeKalb County, Georgia)|Briarcliff High School]]. DeKalb School of the Arts (DSA) is a public performing arts magnet school in unincorporated DeKalb County, Georgia, United States, east of the city of Atlanta.
DeKalb School of the Arts is located at 1192 Clarendon Avenue, Avondale Estates, GA 30002,[1] on the same campus as Avondale High School.
History
DSA began its life in 1985 as the DeKalb Center for Performing Arts (DCPA), a magnet program housed at Avondale High School. In 1999 it was split off and became the DeKalb School of the Arts. DSA has many successful alumni, including Celise Hicks, dance captain for Disney's The Lion King on Broadway.[1]

Susan McCauley is the Principal and Chief Learning Officer of DSA and Pearl Fuller is the Assistant Principal of Instruction and Discipline.[2]
