Black and White America (previous working title: Negrophilia) is the 9th studio album by American singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, producer, and arranger Lenny Kravitz, originally to be released in 2010,[1] although Kravitz said in an interview he wanted to release it by spring 2011, but his website announces the release of the album by summer 2011.

Background

Black and White America is Kravitz's long awaited funk studio album originally intended for release before Baptism's last minute songwriting sessions. It's a double album assembled from those pre-Baptism sessions and new material recorded at Gregory Town Sound. On his official website, Kravitz states, "I don't know what it's called yet, it felt like Negrophilia, and then... it felt like something else." On December 13, 2010 Kravitz announced that the new album was to be called Black and White America. It will be his first album on Roadrunner Records/Atlantic Records.[2]

Kravitz announced on his official Facebook-site that "Come On Get It", used in a NBA commercial in late 2010, would be the album's first single.
