Edinburgh South Cricket Club is a cricket club based in Edinburgh, Scotland. Their home ground is Inch Park, near Cameron Toll. The club has three competitive sides, which participate in the East of Scotland Cricket Association leagues. Additionally, there is a social team, called The Mitres, which plays mostly Sunday and midweek Twenty20 fixtures.
History and Teams
Originally known as the Mitre, the club was formed in 1954 as an activity for young members of the Scottish Episcopal Church[1]. In 1975, the club joined the East of Scotland Cricket Association league, and moved to its present home at Inch Park.
Today, Edinburgh South have a 1st and 2nd XI, both of whom were promoted in 2010, into Divisions three and six respectively of the East of Scotland league. Additionally, a 3rd XI will compete in Division Nine for the first time in 2011.
