Coach Richardson was the Georgia State Coach of the Year six times (1973, 75, 78, 79, 85, 89); Region Coach of the Year nine times (1973, 74, 75, 76, 77, 78, 79, 85, 89); and Middle Georgia Coach of the Year seven times (1979, 81, 82, 83, 85, 86, 89) He was the 1979 head coach in the Dapper Dan Classic All-American team.
