The Next 100 Years is a geopolitical forecast by George Friedman for the twenty-first century.

Overview

Friedman predicts a second cold war with Russia, about 2018 - 2025. During this period, China will collapse, either fracturing into several countries, or turning into a neo-Maoist isolationist.

In about 2025, Russia will collapse, with much of the Pacific part of the country possibly seceding. Turkey, leading most of the Arab world, Poland, leading several Eastern European countries, and Japan will take advantage of this, pressing inward onto Russia. Turkey and Poland will thus collide at the Caucasus, and the United States will back Poland. In around 2050, Japan and Turkey will declare war on America, who will win in about three years, using space-based platforms to attack and survey the ground.

In America, the election of 2028 or 2032 will result in new laws promoting immigration, especially from Mexico. However, in around 2080, with robots taking the place of human labor in many areas, the Mexican immigrants will be forced back across the border. This will aggravate tensions between America and Mexico, resulting in war around 2100.
